Our IP group 1 is concerned with the tasks of giving input on gender sensitivity, create a workshop for young adults on sustainable Energy as a future career path and finally develop a questionnaire for teachers in our evaluation process of green labs in elementary schools. We furthermore co-create a teacher training on these green labs with our fellow students, giving them useful background information on the topics and providing a Brochure for Parents.
To achieve Sustainable Development goal 5 Gender equality, equality in professions is vital. Therefore Gender Sensitivity in primary education is essential to frame future career opportunities open to everyone. Motivation and interest build the fundament for later decisions of profession, despite social environment and societies values and beliefs. The fair education on professions should start early on to influence the decisions taken at a later point in life.
The workshop for young adults will be all about energy. We want to show our participants how fascinating it is to work in the sustainable energy sector and encourage them to choose a sustainable career path. A diverse set of opportunities characterizes this field, starting from grid maintenance, solar energy installations and wind mill construction to logistics. Even green energy of the future like hydrogen could be an option, but young people do not consider it. This is what we want to change.
